9 Things: We Love About Summer Camp

  1. Covering your arms with tons of DIY friendship bracelets and keeping them on all summer even though they were fraying like crazy.
  2. Late night campfire sessions that revolved around delicious s’mores and songs.
  3. Eating summer camp staples like grilled cheese, hot dogs and hamburgers. You have no idea what their secret ingredient was, but you still get intense cravings.
  4. Spending afternoons at the lake and working on your summer glow. Thank goodness you passed that swimming test on the first day!
  5. Kicking back in your favorite flip flops and slip-on sneakers.
  6. Telling scary stories with your friends in your bunk.
  7. That feeling you got when received a care package from mom & dad.
  8. Two words: movie night. Not gonna lie, that was the best night of the whole week.
  9. Making forever friends that you still keep in touch with to this day.

"The island has been a beach destination for over 100 years and Springer’s ice cream shop popped up right around the time of prohibition.  It boasts a whole board full of original, homemade flavors but it is famous for the “milk & cookies” flavor (which is my favorite!)."

"I’ve spent my summers in Stone Harbor, NJ for as long as I can remember.  It’s a little slice of heaven along the shore that brings a lot of peace and tranquility to my life."

"Our end of the island stays very quiet, and I usually start and end my day with a beach walk and/or dip in the Atlantic.  It’s very healing and has the most gorgeous light for taking photos as well!"

"Of course, flats are a must-have for walks down to the beach! This sandal from Nine West still feels sophisticated and sleek even though I’m at the beach."

"What’s a weekend in summer without an über girly brunch? My girls and I love to spend our Saturday mornings catching up on all the latest gossip, indulging in a glass or 2 of rosé, and then shopping the day away!”

"I love to keep my Saturday afternoon look pretty casual but still ladylike, so my favorite way to dress up cutoff shorts is by mixing them with a little black bow heel and a crisp blazer! It’s a look that can take me from the cool mornings into the warm afternoons, all while feeling chic and comfy!”

"This summer is little more special to me this year because it will mark the one-year anniversary of adopting my best friend, Fancy, a 4 year old rescue pitbull."

"We will be spending a lot of our summer days walking to and from Mutts, our favorite bar & restaurant that overlooks a dog park! Fancy isn’t the best on a leash, and I have learned the hard way that walking her in flats is always a better idea than in heels!"

"With the gladiator trend being one of my favorites for summer, these sandals are perfectly practical for chasing my four-legged gal through the grass…while still feeling ultimately chic!"

"As the weather warms up, there is nothing more perfect than an afternoon walk in the park. And an all white look, paired with a neutral bootie, is a great way to beat the heat!”

"One of my favorite outdoor spots in Dallas is Klyde Warren Park. On any given day, 5-10 food trucks line the streets and serve up anything from pizza, to gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, to snow cones, to my personal summer favorite… ICE CREAM!"

"And of course, waiting in line at the "What’s Da Scoop" ice cream truck reminds me of my childhood summers at the neighborhood swimming pool having my daily ice cream sandwich or orange dreamsicle! Who knew a ice cream cone these days could still be so chic?!"
